Rainforest Plants

For the last few years I have been concentrating on rainforest plants in the Robertson area – drawing and painting them and also working as a volunteer to help preserve them. My latest works are currently on show at the CTC Gallery in Robertson, in the Glimpses in a Rainforest Exhibition, on until May 19 2018.

When not drawing and painting, I enjoy going to the local community nursery once a month to help propagate native plants that will eventually be planted back into the parks and reserves nearby.

The picture shows me with a load of rainforest plants I donated from our own home garden.

One of my favourite rainforest plants, which I have drawn, painted and printed several times, is the Eucryphia moorei.

Here are two of my images of it and one of my photos of its lovely little white flowers.

This is a painting in gouache, in black/white and gold.

I am continuing with the rainforest images and have the leaves of six more trees to work on over the next few weeks. The specimens were kindly donated to me by local landowners.
